Join us at The Lark Uptown for a perfuming workshop that's equal parts grounding practice and creative play. Ari from V by Viscera will walk you through using scent as a way to drop into the present moment—while you learn the basics of natural perfume blending and create your own custom 10ml fragrance to take home.

We'll start with a chill grounding exercise (think less "om," more "ahh"), move into exploring different essential oils and how to describe what you're smelling, then get hands-on with blending your perfect scent. It's meditative, it's fun, and you leave with a one-of-a-kind perfume made by you.

A Día de Muertos Celebration

Join us for an intimate celebration honoring our deceased loved ones through the beautiful traditions of Día de Muertos. This gathering welcomes anyone in the BIPOC community who wishes to connect with ancestral wisdom and celebrate the lives of those who came before us.

What We'll Share Together

Bento Cake & Cupcake Decorating Workshop led by Taya of Mad Vegan Co learn traditional decorating techniques as we transform delicious vegan bento cake and cupcakes into colorful offerings for our ancestors. Taya will guide us through creating beautiful edible art using vibrant colors, edible flowers, and meaningful symbols.

Collective Altar Building (Ofrenda) Together, we'll create a community altar filled with photos, flowers, candles, and personal mementos. Bring a small item or photo to honor someone special—this sacred space will hold our collective memories and love.

Breaking Bread & Brindis We'll gather around our beautifully set table to share our decorated treats and raise a toast (brindis) to those we've lost. Stories, laughter, and tears are all welcome as we celebrate the enduring connections between the living and the dead.

For Our Community

While rooted in Mexican traditions, this celebration is open to all BIPOC community members who wish to honor their ancestors in this meaningful way. Different cultures have beautiful ways of remembering the dead—bring your own traditions to share alongside ours.
